What does BLCO stand for?
BLCO is acronym for Bonny Light Crude Oil which is a high grade of Nigerian crude oil with high API gravity (low specific gravity), produced in the Niger Delta basin and named after the prolific region around the city of Bonny. Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) is official source for Bonny light crude oil.
The very low sulfur content of Bonny Light crude oil by world standards as sweet crude oil grade, makes it a highly demanded grade for its low corrosiveness to refineries’ infrastructures and the lower environmental impact of its byproducts in refineries effluents.
This west African crude oil finds its way to both east and west locations, with China, India, Europe and the US crude oil key buyers.
